Since ancient times, the Bay of Banderas has been
important as a breeding and calving ground for the
humpback whale north pacific population. These
wondrous creatures will thrill you with their breaches,
songs and behavior displays. You’ll have the opportunity
to see their impressive courtship displays as well as the
tenderness between mothers and their calves, help us with
our photo-identification project and support the
Humpback Whale Research and Conservation Project.

Join our friendly staff for an incredible kayak adventure
in
Punta Mita, Banderas Bay’s north point and one of its
most beautiful beaches, where the azure to turquoise
shades on the water contrast with the unmatched thin
white sands of the beaches. Marine life is abundant, and
some of the species we might encounter include
multicolored tropical fish of all sizes, sea turtles, manta
rays and eagle rays among others.

Discover the Sierra Madre!
Our friendly staff will take you to El Nogalito a small
village amidst the jungle South of Puerto Vallarta. Hike
along a colorful river. The trails are in a semideciduos
tropical forest and our guide with the help of field guides
will assist with flora and fauna identification, where you
will be able to observe woodpeckers, parrots, yellow
winged cacique, native parakeets and admire a canyon
and also the diversity of flora. You´ll be able to swim in a
natural rock pool and admire the view. After numerous
photo opportunities, you will begin the equally exhilarating hike
back.

Discover an underwater
paradise!
Our snorkeling adventure is simply
second to none. The
Marietas Islands, one of the most important wildlife
sanctuaries in México’s Pacific coast, schools of fish
often number in the hundreds, if not thousands. Sea turtles
dolphins, giant mantas and coral reefs are also part of the
Marietas’ marine life. If you keep your head above water,
you’ll also see a vast colony of sea birds, such as that
true pirate of the sky, the magnificent frigate bird, egrets,
herons, sea gulls and pelicans, as well as brown boobies
and the very bright blue footed boobies, which makes
some people refer to the islands as “The Mexican
Galapagos”.Travel in small groups with great
knowledgeable guides and discover an underwater
paradise.
Discover the Birds´ paradise!
The Bay of Banderas is home to a great variety of
habitats
and ecosystems, ranging from mountains, rivers and creeks
, marshy lagoons, tropical forests, mangroves and shoreline
The diversity is so great that we can boast up to 355
different bird species in this area. That’s almost HALF of
all bird species found in the U.S. and Canada combined!
These are great birding tours, ALWAYS small groups and
guided by one of Vallarta’s top birders.
Hidden Paradise
Travel to a gorgeous fishing
villages south of Puerto Vallarta, called Boca de Tomatlan, from
there we will start our hike and will observe a variety of life that
includes birds, butterflies, lizards and tropical trees, until we
reach the crystal-clear waters of Colomitos beach, one of
Bandera’s Bay’s most secluded beaches. We will have the
opportunity to snorkel at this hidden paradise and enjoy the
multicolor tropical fish. A lunch stop can be made at a local
restaurant an additional cost.

Light house in Marina.
> 9:00 a.m. Meeting at Ecotour´s office in downtown.
All participants are transported to the south of the Bay along the
scenic Pan-American Highway (30 min. drive in A/C van), we will
start our 30 min. hike in a semideciduos tropical forest in order to
reach a small private white sanded beach, from here we will snorkel
and afterwards we will begin the equally exciting hike back.
> 2:00 p.m. Return to Puerto Vallarta.
