GUADALAJARA by Harris Tours
A two-day whirlwind tour of Mexico's other capital.
Guadalajara is considered to be one of the finest examples
of Spanish colonialism and the churches, government
buildings, parks and squares are a testament to the grand
style of life enjoyed here for centuries.
You'll see all of it on the city tour.
We'll take you to Tlaquepaque for fabulous shopping and
the famous mariachi bands.
We'll take you to the state folkloric ballet at the Teatro
Degollado, said to be the finest in the land, to the
internationally famous market at Tonala where
craftspeople from all over Mexico come to sell their
wares, and where you'll have the opportunity to make
some great buys at dealer prices.
You'll spend the night in a typical Mexican Hotel,
conveniently located in the heart of the city, close to the
downtown market and street after street of shopping for
just about anything you could imagine.
Tour departs Puerto Vallarta 8:00 a.m. Wednesday and
returns you to your hotel on Thursday about 9:00 p.m.

... then on to Guadalajara, the Most
Mexican of all
Mexican Cities
From Tequila, an air-conditioned van will take you on a
pleasant 40-minute drive to Guadalajara's renowned
Colonial era suburb, Tlaquepaque, and the world-famous
Tlaquepaque Market. Over the years, the Tlaquepaque
Market has become a fashionable place that attracts
talented designers and artisans offering the best shopping
for handcrafts and decorative arts in all of Mexico. The
prices here are far lower than in Puerto Vallarta, making
Tlaquepaque a must-see for savvy shoppers. Lunch is
included here at this extremely pleasant part of the city.
Your afternoon is spent in the heart of the "Most Mexican
of all Mexican Cities." Guadalajara is both the
birthplace
of Mariachi music and the home of Mexico's most
inspiring 16th century architecture. It attracts thousands of
visitors who come for its balmy spring-like weather,
gorgeous parks, gardens and magnificent architecture.
Also included in your day is a guided tour to the principal
points of interest of the city to see its most famous
monuments and the murals of Orozco.
